This Machin Head design Post & Go stamp features an overprint marking the Diamond Jubilee of HM The Queen in 2012. These stamps were exclusively issued at Spring STAMPEX 2012 in London. The Post & Go stamp has been applied to the back of an official National Portrait Gallery postcard featuring the classic Dorothy Wilding portrait of The Queen at the beginning of her reign (as used for the Wilding definitive stamps of the era).
The Post & Go stamp has been cancelled with the single ring postmark for WINDSOR dated 22 FE 12, the first day of issue for these stamps. Windsor postmark use is rare (as most first day covers for this issue were produced using the Stampex postmarks).
